Madeleine Carroll is a home-schooling mother of four lively children, and is expecting her fifth in the spring. She lives in the countryside of Surrey in England. One of her favourite hobbies is taking long walks in the local Commons where she can often catch glimpses of various types of wild-life, including deer, ducks, swans, geese and cuckoos, as well as free-ranging Dexter cattle. Joyful Colours of the Year is the first book that she has written about her beautiful native England.
Dessi Jackson was born and raised in Bulgaria, and her experiences of village life lend a colorful richness and charm to her engaging Old World storytelling style. Mother of six, her Byzantine Catholic faith and the memories of her homeland are both integral to the stories she has to tell. Dessi is the author of four picture books; Nikola and the Monk, Roses in the Snow and Saint Felix and the Spider are published by Quis Ut Deus Press.

Illustrator Lydia Grace Kadar-Kallen combines realism and charm with just a touch of whimsy in her vibrant watercolors, vividly bringing stories to life. A homeschooling graduate, Lydia's artistic pursuits are many and varied, from making pysanky eggs to statue restoration. She spends her time drawing, painting, birding, baking, reading, harping, and volunteering at her Byzantine Catholic Church. With her trusty dog Jane at her side, she enjoys the wonders and beauty of the natural world in her native Pennsylvania.
